Data Modelling / London

Data Modelling Specialist

We are looking for a data modelling specialist with experience in data architecture and data operations for financial services.

Mission

We are building the future of data & reporting for financial markets.

Using our collaborative data management platform, Rosetta, our clients can crowd-source executable data models for financial products, lifecycle events and regulatory rules for global reporting regimes. Our technology combines cutting-edge cloud-computing and the power of open source software, enabling firms to collaborate to build and share those across the industry.

We are well funded and have secured some very high-profile clients from top tier investment banks, law firms, technology providers and standard-setting bodies. On top of open-source data models, our cloud-native regulatory reporting platform is being rolled out by several financial institutions.

What you'll do day to day
  • Work with clients to onboard them to the Rosetta platform
  • Analyse and understand data pipelines to assist clients integrating with the Rosetta platform.
  • Build and enhance industry data models and functional models for Securities, Derivatives, Commodities, Securities Finance and FX
  • Shape the future of the regulatory landscape by building and managing Regulatory rules contributed by the industry
  • Be responsible for taking requirements through to delivery, working to implementation deadlines and presenting to industry working groups

Our Technology

We fully embrace open source technologies, which we used to create Rosetta: a language and SDK that allows to build domain models and data processing pipelines.

With Rosetta we can define classic entity-relationships, but its power lies in the rich syntax we have for validation rules, data bindings and map-reduce abstractions. So that clients can use Rosetta with their language of choice, we can automatically code generate into Java or Python or Scala or GoLang or Javascript or … well you get the idea.
For the regulatory reporting platform, the key is to give transparency over data processing pipelines. That means baking in processing transparency into our infrastructure from day one and giving users (and ourselves!) an intuitive UI to drill into what is happening at every stage of the pipeline.

Our Modelling Approach

We like Agile development but use only the parts that make sense for us. We are not dogmatic about specific parts of Agile but believe it brings the users and developers closer, because together we create better solutions.

Preferring flexibility, we favour best-in-class technologies - the right tools for the right job. This means we try to keep our work flexible, too.
We love helping our clients develop solutions to make the post trade eco-system more efficient. Our toolkit helps standardise data and functions to simplify everyday tasks that cause our clients problems. Our market knowledge and intellectual curiosity is operating at the cutting edge of financial services innovation.
We commit to driving innovation in the industry and have participated in the FCA Tech Sprint (Nov 2017), the Accenture Innovation Lab (2018), the ING Fintech Village (2018) and Allen & Overy’s Fuse (2018-2020). We also sat on the judging panel at the Barclays #DerivHack (Nov 2018 and 2019) and won the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Innovation Hub G20 TechSprint (2020).
