The latest Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI 38) shows London has almost closed the gap with New York in overall rankings.
However, in fintech-specific rankings, London slipped to 5th, with Hong Kong and Shenzhen leading the charts. This highlights a clear opportunity to double down on innovation and reclaim the top spot.
Our CEO, Laurent-Olivier Labeis, stresses that London still has Europe’s deepest capital markets and a thriving fintech ecosystem. He adds that the UK must accelerate listing rule reforms and focus on high-growth sectors like RegTech, a global market projected to reach $85bn by 2032.
