Tell us a bit about yourself and your role at REGnosys
I'm a Quality Assurance (QA) and Support Engineer at REGnosys, helping ensure our web application, Rosetta, is reliable, user-friendly, and meets both client and internal needs.
My role bridges QA and client support, so I work closely with development, product, and client services every day.
Originally from Ukraine, I moved to the UK three years ago when the war began. My background spans customer support and QA roles across both large organisations and agile product teams. I’ve discovered I really enjoy the variety and impact that comes with smaller, fast-moving environments like REGnosys, where I can contribute broadly and make a real impact.
Outside work, you’ll find me on a yoga mat, learning new coding skills and baking.
What do you see as your main priority in your role?
In a nutshell: making sure everything works as it should – and that clients have a smooth experience, no matter what.
On the support side, I’m the first point of contact when clients get in touch. I investigate issues, help troubleshoot and gather the right details so our developers can jump in quickly. I also try to provide fast workarounds to keep things moving.
On the QA side, I test every update before it goes live - checking new features, running regression tests, and maintaining our test plans. I also look for ways to improve how we work, from automating tasks to refining documentation. Ultimately, it’s about helping the team deliver a high-quality experience for our clients.
Why did you choose to work at REGnosys?
It actually started with the job description - it felt like a great match right away. I dug into REGnosys and thought, “Okay, this sounds seriously interesting.”
Financial regulatory reporting wasn’t something I knew much about, but I love a good challenge - and the idea of working on something so important (and complex!) really drew appealed to me.
I’ve worked in both big companies and small teams, and I’ve realised I’m definitely a ‘small team’ kind of person. I like being involved in different areas. At REGnosys, you’re not just a cog in the machine – you are part of building it with a smart and supportive team. That’s exactly what I was looking for.
A day in the life: what is your typical working day like?
No two days are exactly the same, but they always involve a mix of QA and support.
We start with our morning stand-up, where I brief the team on the current release cycle status and flag any issues reported by users or spotted during testing.
The rest of the day is filled with focused testing (new features, bug fixes, regressions, working with teammates on current issues, improvements, or upcoming work, and helping clients with tricky problems.
If a client reports an issue via chat, I will jump in to troubleshoot, provide a workaround if possible, and loop in the dev team when needed. It keeps things varied and interesting!
I really enjoy the mix of remote and in-office work. Being in the office helps the team sync up quickly and bounce ideas around; while working from home means I can skip the commute and roll straight into yoga after work.
A message to your younger self: tips for success in the industry
You’re not supposed to know everything from day one, and that's totally fine. Tech can feel overwhelming at first, but that’s part of the adventure. Stay curious. Ask questions (even the ones that feel “silly”—they’re usually the most important).
And here's the key lesson: things won’t always go to plan. Don’t be afraid to change direction, stay flexible, and never stop learning. Every misstep is just another chance to grow.
