Jayasri Radhakrishnan

Jayasri joined the REGnosys team in February 2023 as a senior software engineer. Here, Jayasri discusses what drew her to a career in software engineering, a typical day at REGnosys and what the future holds for regtech.

Tell us a bit about yourself and your role at REGnosys

I grew up in a small town called Pondicherry in South India and developed a love for coding at a young age. I was always drawn to the power of computers and their ability to solve complex problems, which is what made me choose Computer Engineering at NIT Jaipur. I started my career as a software engineer at a Global Technology giant where I enjoyed exploring new technologies and learning different programming languages. I then moved to the UK and have been working in the Capital Markets sector as part of the development team to automate middle and back-office trade processing for banks, brokers and custodians.

As a Senior Software Engineer at REGnosys, I am responsible for developing and testing the Rosetta platform and ensuring new releases are bug-free.

Why did you choose to work at REGnosys?

REGnosys gives me the opportunities to explore new technologies and solve interesting challenges daily. The fast-paced start-up culture compliments my skills and has given me an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, creative and innovative work environment.

A day in the life: what’s your typical working day like?

REGnosys offers a flexible working policy which enables me to maintain a good balance between my work and my personal life. A typical day starts with the stand-up with the entire team which gives me an understanding of what everyone is working on. This is followed by team follow ups in which people can discuss their individual projects in more detail and make appropriate design choices. I spend the rest of the day coding the Rosetta platform.

REGnosys in 5 years: where do you see yourself and the company then?

I want to see myself in a leadership role leading all new cutting-edge tech transformation driven by REGnosys.

A message to your younger self: tips for success in the industry

Be brave, take risks, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes. The journey of life is all about learning, growing and experiencing new things.
